🇫🇷 Paris, France: The Art of Living Beautifully

Luxury travel, best served chilled.
Paris never fails to take our breath away — no matter how many times we visit. It’s not just the architecture or the food; it’s the feeling that life here is meant to be savored slowly. The light, the rhythm, the sound of clinking glasses along the Seine — somehow, it all conspires to make you feel alive again.
🏨 Where We Stayed: Mandarin Oriental, Paris
We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Paris, perfectly located just steps from the Louvre and Place Vendôme. It’s the kind of hotel that redefines understated luxury — elegant without being formal, serene without being quiet.
Our suite opened onto a private courtyard, fragrant with jasmine and hydrangea. In the mornings, we’d sip espresso beneath the garden canopy before heading out into the city.
The hotel’s location is pure perfection — walkable to nearly everything, yet peaceful enough to feel like your own hidden oasis in the heart of Paris.
🚎 Easing Into Paris: Open-Air Bus Tour
After our overnight flight, we promised ourselves to take it slow — and for once, we did. To stave off jet lag, we hopped on an open-air bus tour and let the city come to us.
It was the perfect first-day reset. The sunshine, the breeze, and the hum of Paris unfolding before us — Notre-Dame, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Élysées, and that first glittering glimpse of the Eiffel Tower.
By the time we stepped off, we were relaxed, grounded, and perfectly synced with the city’s rhythm.
🍷 Dinner in the Gardens: Loulou at the Louvre
That evening was pure magic. We dined outdoors at Loulou, nestled within the Jardin des Tuileries beside the Louvre. The air was warm, golden hour lingered, and every table shimmered in candlelight and conversation.
We had burrata, truffle pasta, and perfectly chilled rosé — all while watching the Louvre glow in the fading light. It was one of those meals where time seemed to pause.
Earlier in the day, we’d decided to skip going inside the Louvre after seeing videos of the crowds online. Instead, we wandered the gardens — quiet, sun-dappled, and breathtaking in their own right. The fountains sparkled, the air smelled faintly of roses, and we realized that sometimes the best memories happen outside the itinerary.
Then, just as dessert arrived, the Eiffel Tower lit up at exactly 9 p.m., visible from our table. The entire garden seemed to hush as its golden lights began to shimmer. At the same moment, the Olympic balloon rose above the skyline — a once-in-a-lifetime view that felt almost surreal.
We’ll never forget that evening: the glow of the tower, the laughter drifting across the garden, the feeling that we were exactly where we were meant to be.
🥐 The Days That Followed
Each morning began with coffee and croissants on Rue Saint-Honoré, followed by a walk through the Tuileries Gardens. We visited the Musée d’Orsay, admired the Impressionists, and strolled the bridges that crisscross the Seine.
Paris invites you to slow down, to sit longer, to notice more. And we did exactly that.
🌹 A Rosé-Tinted Moment
That first night in Paris — jet-lagged, happy, and glowing from the candlelight at Loulou — reminded us why we travel the way we do. We don’t rush to see it all; we let the best parts find us.
Paris, as always, gave us exactly what we didn’t know we needed: a reason to pause, breathe deeply, and fall in love all over again — with the city, and with each other.
